Montessori Method: The Effective Solution to Address Inadequate Interventions

You're probably not surprised to learn that a high percentage of healthcare workers plan to leave their chosen field, citing burnout as the reason. This poses a problem for employers in the sector.

For both caregivers and caregivers, the workload and long, overwhelming hours lead to burnout, both professional and personal. In addition, emotional, physical, and mental stressors at work or at home with an affected loved one lead to low satisfaction.

How did we get here?

Due to a lack of knowledge of the reality of the affected person.

We then take care of them, often with ineffective results. Despite this, we continue to believe that doing the same things that don't work even more intensely or repeating the same reminders of reality (that is, our own) more loudly will bring the affected person to the desired reason or behavior. This is what many caregivers and family members exhaust themselves doing after all these years, with the same desperate and overwhelming results.

The Montessori approach is a new model of therapeutic and communication care combining principles of rehabilitation, interaction and educational techniques for people with dementia.

While the benefits of this method are truly significant for the person with the condition, they are almost immeasurable for the staff of memory care homes and caregivers.

The Montessori method helps people with disabilities live independently, gives them back control over their lives and satisfaction from their interactions with others, including professionals and caregivers, whatever the context.
